I think if we complain to the institution via right channels this will make SWGC the best and the right place to study at. Think about it if you register for a course and are not passionate about it or alternate a course because of finance the possibility of disappointment and be unsuccessful is to high and we will obviously blame lectures. I have not ruled out lectures who are lazy or who have studied for their knowledge but and cannot teache others the right way.
SWGC is good provided you want it to be. SWGC is bad privided you want it to be. Voice out any concerns through right channels action will be taken I promise you this has happen to me and it has changed to be good to me. From : Concern

im a student who is doing final year of office administration,i think the college is the best of the best colleges in gauteng for students who have goals, ambition and aim for greater heights.for any student that want to rule and not to be ruled by the schools code of conduct then they experience a great challeng.it is wise to know what you want and what you want to obtain,if you are at college and still dont know what you want dont be ashamed of asking for help from the lectures at large.im proud to be at South West Gauteng College,do join us. I studied at this college in 2003 doing a six months course i was studying management assistant, it was the best college the lecture, cafeteria the students sharing the class playing together. lectures were good in class taking us equally, i wrote my exams nicely and on top of that i even obtained a 90% for introductory computer and received award. maybe now things have changed, but for me the six months i attended there was the best. I AGREE WITH THE OTHER STUDENT DON`T STUDY THROUGH THIS COLLEGE
I WAS REGISTERED 2010 AND STUDY HARD WHEN I HAD TO WRITE THE EXAMS I WAS TOLD THAT THEY LOST MAY PAPERS AND THAT THEY NEVER REGISTERED ME EVEN THOUGH I PAID THEM THEY REFUSED TO REFUND MY MONEY.
AFTER A BIG FIGHT AND A HOUR IN THE EXAM TIME THEY TOLD ME THAT I CAN WRIGHT THE EXAM BUT WITH OUT A TERM MARK I WILL NEED 90% TO PASS IN THE EXAM TO PASS THE SEMESTER.
I WROTE THE EXAM AND NEVER THOUGHT I WILL PASS SO I REGISTERED AGAIN AND PAID R640 BECAUSE I WAS TOLD THAT MY MARK WILL BE LATE. AFTER I REGISTERED 2 WEEKES LATER I GOT I PHONE CALL BACK TELLING ME THAT I PASSED AND CAN GET MY MONEY REFUNDED ITS BEEN 3 MONTHS NOW WHERE I HAVE NOT RECEIVED A CENT FROM THEM. BASICALLY THEY STOLE MY MONEY.
PLEASE STUDENT TO GO YEAR

As a student and leader of students, we have noticed that not everything is perfect. We need to work in solidarity of transforming FET colleges hence some of us we are not running away. We all can't all afford to pay Damelin and other private institutions hence we should transform the current situation for needy students and moving forward to have powerful institutions. Our parents are paying TAX hence we have fund for FET colleges so let's stop been the Attention Seeking Syndrome and Act on transformations. Individuals who are incompetent must leave and we must identify good professional and pay them also. It should be a collective approach
Amen....

Think twice about studying here - poor lecturers, administration dismal, especially if you are part time - don't waste your money. I've done the accounting management program it was a poor situation from the start - venues are wrong, lecturers come a 1/2 hour late or don't pitch up. The Pastel accounting on Thursdays was a total abortion - I've never had such a bad lecturer in my life before. I'm also considering Damelin or some other private institution that can give me quality education. From : Nellie
I have studied at this college, believe me they may be the cheapest but think twice before joining them as a part time student. If you join them be prepared to have no text books until the prelim exam is near or the teachers won''t be available, there is always an excuse or they just don''t know anything. I have decided to go to Damelin, it''s more expensive but you get the education you pay for. From : STUDENT
