An institution in Gauteng's weekend shopping and entertainment culture, the Hillfox Market has provided a stage for just about every notable name in South Africa's music industry over the last decade. Inaugural concerts hosted in 1995 marked the start of a phenomenal success story that has seen Hillfox attracting thousands of patrons from all over Gauteng; with top local artists and 250 undercover stalls delivering a quality leisure experience for the whole family. Humble beginnings have come full circle with the Hillfox Market receiving landlord approval for an improved entertainment infrastructure that caters to the elevated area demographic that has evolved over the last few years. The undercover facility delivers an upgraded stage befitting SA's musical best, and offers 'golden-circle' type seating on a first-come, first-serve basis. A nominal per head entry fee will be implemented for adults, varying according to the artists performing. Free entry for kids under the age of 12 and free entry into the Market continues to emphasise delivery of a wholesome value-for-money family entertainment offering. Hillfox sustains its culture of community by continuing to offer its stage as a platform to up-and-coming local entertainers. "We are excited to have this opportunity to establish a quality infrastructure that corresponds with the high levels of entertainment that our patrons have come to expect", says B&B Markets Managing Director Bruce Jones. FREE ENTERTAINMENT IS BACK ON THE HILLFOX STAGE The Hillfox Market’s management and traders have pulled out all the stops to bring back FREE entertainment to the B&B Markets Hillfox stage. Over the last 15 years the Hillfox Market has provided a stage for just about every notable name in the SA entertainment industry. Firmly entrenched as an institution in Gauteng’s weekend shopping and entertainment culture, in 2008 the Hillfox entertainment facility was upgraded to an undercover entertainment arena offering a first-rate permanent stage. “Over the years the local West Rand and greater Gauteng community have remained unwavering in their loyalty to the Market and the local entertainers that we showcase”, says Bruce Jones, managing director of B&B Markets (owners and operators of the Market). “During these tough economic times we felt it was important to give something back to those that have supported us so well over so many years.” With immediate effect ALL entertainment at the Hillfox Market will be FREE of charge for both adults and kids; with Market management and the Hillfox traders absorbing the costs related to the continued delivery of SA’s entertainment best. B&B Markets Hillfox is located at the Hillfox Value Centre on Hendrik Potgieter Drive in Weltevreden Park, and opens from 9am to 5pm every Saturday, Sunday and on Public Holidays.
