To preserve this pristine bit of indigenous Highveld (110 ha.)

To protect, care for and maintain the Kloofendal Nature Reserve and the Confidence Reef, site of first underground mining of gold in the Witwatersrand

To make aware and educate the public of our natural heritage and amazing biodiversity of plants and animals which occur in the reserve.

Enjoy its safe use – security guards, employed by Joburg City Parks, are on duty every day

Friends of Kloofendal

Alien Invasive Vegetation Hack & litter removal is scheduled for the second Saturday morning every month meeting in the Kloofendal parking lot at 08h30. Learn which are the main alien invasive plants and what they look like. For more information, please contact Doreen Wood tel 011-679-3478 cell 082-341-5902. We need your help.

Fees for Guided Walks Morning Walks – approximately 2 hours.

Non-members R30
Children 12 yrs and less R10
Fees for Nocturnal Events: Presentation & Walk
Duration: approximately 3 hours

Security guard: R10 per car
Fee for Spider Course R150 per person payable on the day of the course

Guided walks for private groups (e.g. bird club, hiking club, church group, school group) can be arranged through Karin Spottiswoode.
Entry into the reserve is for free.
There are picnic and ablution facilities.
