About UsLifeLine West Rand falls under the umbrella of LifeLine Southern Africa and LifeLine International, an organisation started in Australia in 1963 to cater to the needs of the community by the community. LifeLine is a non-profit organisation which has the emotional well being of the community at heart. We provide free, confidential telephonic and personal counselling to all sectors of our community regardless of colour, race or creed. This counselling is conducted by lay-counsellors who are volunteers trained to effectively listen, give emotional support and assist counselees to resolve personal problems. LifeLine West Rand has also extended its services into the Life Skills training field, where we are actively involved in the training of Health Care Workers, Corporates and the Youth. YouthLine is a LifeLine project which focuses on the youth of the West Rand. Basic life skills and counselling courses are presented to schools and in the community. These courses have had a major impact in empowering our youth through pro-active participation in our strive towards an emotionally stable youth.
