The Clamber Club `Jump and Jog' programme is a movement programme for children ages 2-6 years. What is the course about? The course is a gross motor programme that includes a wide range of activities using bean bags, balls, hoops, a huge American gym parachute and much more. We boogy to the Clamber Club action songs, listen to stories, play games and exercise with Jog the frog our fitness mascot! What skills does it develop? The course was developed by occupational therapist Liz Senior, and covers a variety of skills, some of these being: - all the perceptual motor skills such as body awareness, spatial skills, motor planning, eye hand and eye foot coordination etc. - certain concepts - such as number, colour and size etc. - listening skills such as auditory discrimination and auditory sequencing. - creative movement and use of the imagination. - Body fitness and muscle strength. What do we do: - Classes are for 45min for the older kids and 30min for the younger ones, once a week. - Courses run for 10 weeks at a time. - We have a maximum of 10 children in a class - this means that skill development happens, and that each child is given attention. - Coaches are thoroughly trained and all have to write a test and do a practical examination before running their own classes. Where and when? At your school - either during school hours or after school.
